Feel like you’re walking on a cloud with our brand new Kyrgies Wovens. Crafted from thick yarn that’s spun to make the softest and coziest Kyrgies yet, they’ll fit your feet like a glove. Fancy comfy feet on your next weekend away? Thanks to their flexible vegetable tanned leather sole, they’re the perfect traveling companion as they can be folded up and packed with ease.
Like all our Kyrgies, these oh-so-soft house shoes form part of a centuries-old history of craftsmanship. In this case, these slippers stem from techniques traditionally used for weaving heavy woolen rugs and are handmade by a women’s cooperative located in the remote Alay Valley of southern Kyrgyzstan. Sustainable, soft and snug on your feet, our Kyrgies Wovens are a slice of traditional Kyrgyz life, brought from the dusty plains of Central Asia directly to your door.
Softer than our other slippers thanks to the flexibility of their woven woolen fabric, they’re the perfect choice if you have delicate feet that suffer from bunions or other ailments, or have wider feet and want a more accommodating fit. Naturally moisture-wicking and odor-resistant, and with a slightly higher back than our Classic Kyrgies, these house shoes are an extremely cozy addition to your home wardrobe — and perfect for embarking on the Great Indoors.
We are glad you asked. We've created two videos that show the process in detail.
We’re so glad you asked! As a company, we’re committed to making conscious choices at every stage of our manufacturing and sales processes. These slippers are 100% chemical-free, made from low-impact dyes and use vegetable tanned leather soles rather than toxic chromium. We also pack our products in minimal packaging, which uses recycled and recyclable materials where possible.
But what we’re most proud of is the fact that each pair of slippers is handcrafted by our artisans in Kyrgyzstan and, by purchasing a pair of Kyrgies Wovens, you’re helping to provide the women at the cooperative in the Alay Valley with work and income outside of the home. We don’t recommend it! We know you’ll be keen to show them off to your neighbours, but water can actually damage these slippers, causing them to become misshapen and uncomfortable on your feet. There are plenty of adventures you can have in the Great Indoors, so we suggest reserving them for these!
All of our products are lovingly handmade. Unfortunately, while this does ensure each pair of Kyrgies is crafted to the highest quality, it also means that sizing can vary between slippers. To help, we recommend that if you’re between sizes, you go for the larger one.

What happens if I spill something on my Kyrgies?
Being clumsy is the worst! If you do throw a coffee or similar onto your new Kyrgies, don’t head straight to the laundry room. As they’re made from wool, these house shoes being mixed with water is guaranteed to be a disaster.
Instead, a quick trip to the dry cleaners should do the trick. Expect your shoes to return just like new.
